Blogmas wasn't a COMPLETE fail this year... but it certainly wasn't a slam dunk either. I kind of, well, forgot most days that I had committed to blogging christmassy things. Christmas came SO fast this year, so I'll give you a recap of what we've been doing this season:
Richie turned 18!! We celebrated with a fancy eve at El Gaucho in Bellevue which bored Max to tears but was totally Richie's vibe.
I helped build this gigantic garden gnome out of non-perishable foods at work. All of this food will be donated to Ronald McDonald house after we host a contest amongst our offices and project sites for best designed CANstruction project.
We did our first family run! (Minus the little one). This was Richie's first 10K, which he said was the farthest he had ever run and he sprinted the final lap! Rich did great per usual with his 10K, especially as this has been his normal trail running course for the last couple months. I came in 15th for women on the 4.2 mile run which I was super proud of, considering that I'm still coming down from a 3.5 week streak of a bronchitis type cold.
Finally, leading up to two days ago on Christmas day, my parents came up to visit! We played tourists at Snoqualmie Falls, played A LOT of Rumi and Querkle and had an absolutely festive couple of days.
I've been pretty screen-adverse this season, keeping my computer tucked away in the closet, using my phone a bit more minimally, even for photos. On one hand this has allowed me to be more present with the people I'm with and enjoy each day a little bit more. On the other hand, it means less real-time blog posts and more re-cap style posts like this one.
I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and also remembered to put your phones down once in awhile to be with your friends and family.
