I fully realize that "Blogmas" by definition is supposed to be a series of Christmas themed blogs... but listen, I'm a rule breaker and I don't like being put into a box. ALSO who really has 25 days worth of things to say about Christmas. I'm sure that the last 12 days of Blogmas WILL be naturally more Christmassy because now it's actually starting to feel like Christmas time. We have lots of parties coming up, decorating to do, and cookies to make! To turn the corner on Blogmas onto a more festive street, I'm doing The Christmas Tag post! This is a post that has been around multiple blogs and I basically just answer the questions. Creativity at it's finest ;)
1.) What is your Favorite Christmas Film?
I have a true tie! It's between Babes in Toyland and Little Women (the 1994 version)
2.) Have you ever had a white Christmas?
YES! A couple of them and I think it's the most magical coincidence since we don't get a lot of snow in the Seattle area.
3.) Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At my parents house/ my childhood house/ in front of the tree and the fire and on the piano bench. This Christmas is likely the last one there and I'm sobbing constantly.
4.) What is your favorite Christmas song?
Oh Come oh Come Emmanuel performed by Casting Crowns. It's truly amazing.
5.) Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Historically, yes. Just one :)
6.) Can you name all of Santa's Reindeer.
Yes. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. Olive doesn't count.
And since I'm bragging the seven dwarfs are: Sleepy, Dopey, Doc, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, and Grumpy.
Also the three stooges were Larry Curly and Moe, in case you were curious. Just don't ask me to point to Vietnam on a map.
7.) What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
See #3 and excuse me while I grab a tissue.
8.) Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
As fake as our president's tan.
9.) What is your all time favorite Christmas cookie or treat?
10.) Be honest, do you like giving gifts, or receiving gifts.
Can we just stop doing gifts on Christmas all together and just eat cookies and drink wine and be merry together?
11.) What is the best Christmas gift you've ever received?
I think my first camera... it opened up a lot of avenues for creativity and has driven me to go to places I never normally would have gone.
12.)What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
As I read this I first though "Bali!" but I think Switzerland would be pretty magical.
13.) Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I'm a total pro. Down to exact measurements
14.) Most memorable Holiday moment?
Running down the stairs to see my gigantic pink barbie house when I was 4 is probably my oldest memory. Getting proposed to on Thanksgiving is my newest most memorable Holiday moment. Oh ya... and that time I turned the oven off with my butt with the turkey in it and delayed dinner about 2 hours.
15.) What made you realize the truth about Santa?
I ran downstairs to report what Santa had brought, and when I ran upstairs to tell my mom corrected me on my description on one of Santa's presents BEFORE she had even gone downstairs. (sorry mom)
16.) Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you keep them?
Heck ya, I love goals and like to smash 'em
17.) What makes the holiday's special for you?
I get to see all of my family! All at once! That's the best thing ever...
